Conventual and Regional Confectionery Exhibition of Coimbra:

It is an annual initiative of the municipality of Coimbra that intends to preserve and disseminate the intangible heritage of Coimbra and the region. The Pastéis of Santa Clara, the Manjar Branco, the Arrufadas of Coimbra, the Queijadas, the Talhadas de Príncipe, the Suspiros, the Barriga de Freira, the Encharcadas and the Pão de Ló, are some of the many specialties that form part of the sweet heritage of the various convents that existed in the region.

At the same time, this show seeks to encourage the creation of new pastries, which can become another reason to visit the city. But this free access initiative does not rely only on the region’s pastries and sweets, but also promotes the best of the confectionery heritage of the country and abroad. Dozens of exhibitors can be found representing commercial establishments, associations and confraternities connected to pastry and confectionery. In addition to a wide range of pastries available for purchase and tasting, this show also offers a vast cultural entertainment programme.
