Cestaria [Basketry]:

Basketwork is a tradition in Coimbra, where there are still some craftsmen who dominate the art of working wicker, straw, reed, and other vegetable fibres used in this art.

Basketry is understood as a set of objects and utensils, obtained through braided items with various types of intertwining, depending on the fibre used. If in old times, baskets, canisters and other parts were utilitarian objects for everyday use, these craftsmen currently work for their love to an art they do not want to let die, and now their pieces are bought essentially for decorative purposes by those who value a manually executed piece.
